

Gabriella Pinto is a writer and filmmaker.
Her film-directing work includes Oh! (Oya Pictures), winner of Best Ultra Short at the Milan Indie Film Festival and Best Video Art at the London Film Festival, and The Legmaker (Bounceboard Productions). Her debut feature, The Violent Type, is currently in development — co-written and co-directed with director-DOP Meekaaeel Adam and produced by Department of Special Projects.
As a writer, her essays appear in Living While Feminist: Our Bodies, Our Truths (NB Uitgewers), and her play Eden is published in the English for Success Literature Anthology (Oxford University Press). She is also a Silver Award-winning journalist, recognised by Business and Arts South Africa.
Gabriella is the founder of Storylead Studio, a B2B content agency, and co-founder of Iridescent Pictures, a narrative film company.
She holds Austrian and South African citizenship.
